Conference Report on Ward Churchill Published in AAUP’s Journal of Academic Freedom
The AAUP’s Journal of Academic Freedom has just published its third annual volume. This one contains the highly detailed Report on the Termination of Ward Churchill co-authored by Don Eron, Suzanne Hudson, and Myron Hulen of the Colorado State Conference.
In its emailed Member Newsletter the AAUP notes that Churchill’s firing is “the most prominent—and, with its multiple reviews by the university and the courts, probably the most complex—political firing of a tenured faculty member in more than a generation…”
Another essay in the volume is by Ward Churchill himself. His essay “In Response to Ellen Schrecker’s ‘Ward Churchill at the Dalton Trumbo Fountain’” responds to the piece that Schrecker published in the JAF’s 2010 inaugural issue.
The Colorado Conference Report and Churchill’s essay contain considerable new information that has not appeared in print before.
